Masikhule project - Let's grow

Cooperation between foundation and locals

The Zithulele Foundation, with the Masikhule project, wants to show people how important fresh fruit and vegetables are and learn how to build and edit their own garden. In this way, Zithulele's population can not only provide for her own food, but also sell a portion of the crop and thus create an income.

The Masikhule project was established in consultation with the local population and church community and volunteers from church municipalities in the Cape. Masikhule is a Xhosa name and means in Afrikaans: "Laat ons groei" or in English: "Let's grow". This name is very symbolic and is designed by the locals.
